General Requirements: To be eligible for admission to Channels of Christ Expositors Seminary, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Christian Faith: Applicants must have a genuine and verifiable relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated by a life of faith, repentance, and commitment to biblical principles.

• Spiritual Maturity: Candidates should exhibit a growing and mature walk with the Lord, including consistent engagement in Scripture, prayer, and service within the local church.

• Educational Background: Applicants must have completed at least a high school diploma or its equivalent. While a previous undergraduate degree is not required for some programs, it is recommended for advanced degree tracks. For seminary-specific programs, applicants may be expected to have some foundational understanding of Scripture.

• Endorsement: Each applicant must provide letters of recommendation from their pastor, mentor, or other spiritual leaders who can speak to their faith, character, and suitability for ministry.

2. Application

The application process is intended to discern the readiness of applicants for seminary life and ministry preparation. Below are the necessary steps:

Step 1: Online Application Form

Candidates must complete the official online application form on the seminary’s website. This includes basic personal information, academic history, and ministry background.

Step 2: Personal Testimony & Ministry Statement

Applicants must submit a personal testimony of faith in Christ, including the applicant’s conversion experience and growth in the Christian faith. Additionally, applicants must write a detailed statement of their ministry calling and how they believe seminary education will equip them for the work God has called them to.

Step 3: Reference Letters

Applicants must provide at least two letters of reference:

• Pastoral/Ministry Reference: A letter from a pastor, church leader, or mentor who can speak to the applicant’s Christian-Walk, character, and readiness for seminary education.

• Academic or Professional Reference: A letter from a teacher, professor, or employer who can speak to the applicant’s intellectual abilities, discipline, and capacity for rigorous study.

Step 4: Academic Transcripts

At Channels of Christ Expositors Seminary, we are committed to both the academic and spiritual preparation necessary for effective ministry. To ensure we have a comprehensive understanding of your academic background and can assess your readiness for seminary coursework, we require official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended.

For applicants to advanced degree programs, we may also request a writing sample (such as an expository paper or sermon) to evaluate your theological depth, writing proficiency, and ability to communicate Scripture effectively.

We recognize that not all applicants have attended traditional educational institutions. If your background includes seminary or Bible school coursework, please submit official transcripts from those institutions as well. For non-degree-seeking applicants (e.g., certificate program candidates), we may review your ministry experience and, if necessary, recommend preparatory courses to help ensure your success in seminary.

Step 5: Entrance Exam (Optional but Recommended)

While not mandatory for all programs, applicants may be asked to take an entrance exam designed to assess their foundational knowledge in theology, biblical studies, and basic Christian doctrine. This helps us gauge readiness for the academic rigors of seminary.

3. Review Process

Once the application is received, our admissions Committee conducts a thorough and prayerful review of each candidate’s materials. The review process includes the following:

Step 1: Preliminary Screening

Each application is reviewed for completeness and alignment with our eligibility criteria. If all required materials are submitted and meet our initial standards, the application proceeds to the next stage.

The Admissions Committee evaluates the candidate’s academic qualifications, personal testimony, and ministry background. Special attention is given to:

• The applicant’s theological convictions and biblical understanding.

• The clarity and sincerity of their ministry calling.

• The applicant’s alignment with the mission and doctrinal distinctives of Channels of Christ Expositors Seminary.

• Readiness to engage in the seminary’s communal and spiritual formation aspects.

The interview may take place in person, via video call, or through phone, depending on the candidate’s location.

Step 4: Final Review & Decision

After the interview, the Admissions Committee will make a prayerful decision regarding the applicant’s acceptance into the seminary. Candidates will be notified of the decision in writing, either via email or postal mail, within 10–14 business days.

what Prospective students are saying

I am a Deaconess at Gilgal Bible Fellowship Church, where I have been serving for the past year. I am excited about the upcoming CCES BTh programs, which I believe will significantly impact both my personal growth and my service to others. Through this program, I aim to deepen my understanding of the Bible and Christian doctrine, develop critical thinking and reasoning skills, and cultivate spiritual growth. It will also equip me for effective ministry and leadership, enhancing my communication skills, community engagement, and service.

Mercy Mayungi Patrick, Theology Student

I am confident that this program will significantly nurture my growth, especially in areas related to my personal life and ministry. During my time as a teacher in the seminary, I have noticed that many pastors possess a strong zeal for God and a deep desire to learn more about Him. However, the challenge has always been finding a suitable place and the necessary materials to equip themselves. The launch of this program is, therefore, a tremendous help to many Christian leaders.

Brian Chai , Theology Student

The CCES program is a true blessing to me and to the broader Church community. Personally, it will provide me with the opportunity to continue growing spiritually and to deepen my personal relationship with Christ. More importantly, I see it as a lifeline for the leaders in our area who have the desire to know Christ more deeply but lack the resources or access to formal theological training.

I am excited and grateful for the coming of CCES, as it will not only help me grow but will also serve as a catalyst for spiritual growth among leaders and believers in our region.
