Course Objectives

The Praise & Worship and Music Ministry Certificate Program is an 18-session course designed to be completed over six weeks of intensive study, practical ministry, and mentorship. Through these sessions, participants will explore a wide range of topics that combine theologymusic ministry, and leadership skills, all centered on the mission of glorifying God through worship.

The course integrates biblical teachingtheological reflection, and hands-on practice, providing a holistic approach to worship ministry that includes spiritual, musical, and leadership development.     3. Lead Worship Teams Effectively: Learn how to build, lead, and shepherd worship teams, fostering unity, creativity, and collaboration (Ephesians 4:11-13; Psalm 133:1).
    4. Create Biblically Sound Worship Services: Gain the tools necessary to design worship services that honor God and align with biblical principles (Colossians 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 14:40).

Dr. Stephen Van HornCourse Tutor
Founder and President of International Training & Equipping Ministries (ITEM), a ministry he founded in 2003 with the goal of providing theological training to untrained pastors across Africa. Dr. Van Horn’s passion for teaching and preserving the integrity of Scripture has led him to conduct Bible and theology seminars since the ministry’s inception, with a special emphasis on equipping local African leaders to continue this work long after his direct involvement. By 2018, Dr. Van Horn had succeeded in training a network of 50 trainers spread across 10 African countries, empowering them to conduct ITEM seminars independently.
Dr. Marvin Jones
Dr. Marvin Jones Advisory Board
Dr. Marvin Jones is married to his beloved wife, Karen, and they have been blessed with four daughters and two grandchildren. Marvin’s educational journey and ministry are marked by a deep commitment to learning and teaching. He joined the faculty of Hannibal-LaGrange College in Hannibal, Missouri, in 1986, where he served as a full-time professor and completed his PhD dissertation in 1990. While in Hannibal, he also served bi-vocationally as pastor of two local churches, demonstrating his passion for both academics and pastoral ministry.

An elder and pastor, has dedicated his life to serving the Lord and His Church. He is married to his beloved wife, April, and they are blessed with three children and five grandchildren. Since 2005, Van has served as the pastor of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, after previous pastoral assignments in Alabama and North Carolina. His ministry is marked by a strong commitment to teaching, preaching, and discipleship, with a special focus on equipping believers to grow in their faith and knowledge of Scripture.
